A Spider Life

I'm just a little spider

With spinnerets on me,

Dangling from an eaves trough

Or hanging from a tree.

I spin a web of silk.

I spin through rain or shine-

I capture in my orb

The treasure that is mine.

I float my line on wind

To make scaffolds in the sky,

My silks more strong than steel,

Yet bends with just a sigh.

Oh to be a spider!

To weave a web ‘round me

And capture each day’s joy

And spin and spin for free…
