Dear Soldier,

I would like to tell you, you're in my thoughts and prayers…
I pray you come home safely and escape the evil snares.
For Marines in every foxhole, for Airmen in the sky,
For Sailors on our warships and the Army's battle cry…
I'd just like to say I'm grateful for what you do,
When it comes to dedication, most haven't got a clue-
Of things you do from day to day, of offerings unseen,
The sacrifice you freely give most of us would deem-
A price too high to ever pay, in life or our vocation…
And for these deeds, I'd like to say, you've gained my admiration!
You have my thanks and gratitude…my pleas to God unending,
For I can trust as each day starts…my freedom you're defending!
