My morning thoughts still turn to you

The evening sighs and daydreams too-

Sunk within the soul of me,

You’re deeper than a memory.

 

You’re written on my inner walls-

With tenderness my heart recalls

Each smile you smiled, each gentle word,

Your voice, the kindest I have heard-

 

Each moment shared, I won’t forget

There’s not one thing that I regret

Except that you’re not here with me—

If memories fade as I grow old
