Defining Moment

Will you reach and take the hope
Or grab the damning curse,
Then whine throughout your days
That things are so adverse?

Will you take a helping hand,
And walk with Faith a while?
Or pocket all your dreams
For an island of exile?

Will you take a single moment,
One dangling here and now?
And find your soul's atonement
Is hanging on the bough?

This defining moment
May never come again,
It passes like the leaves
Blown by a gusty wind.

You can take this moment
And bow your head in prayer,
Or let it slip away,
Drifting to nowhere.

It's not really up to me
To persuade or coerce,
Will you take the hope?
Or hold onto the curse?
