Eulogy
What will they say when I
breathe my last breath,
And God closes my eyes so still in death?
What will they say when I come to my end,
Was I a trusted and loving, kind-hearted friend?
When the last curtain falls, and I join those before me,
What will they say, what will be my life's story?
When they gather together to eulogize,
Handkerchiefs drawn to sorrow-filled eyes,
Tell me I pray, my dearest, sweet friend,
What will they say, when I come to my end?
May it be this:
Only one life, by which we are measured,
And only one Truth, that which I have treasured.
Then, bury me under my God's good green earth,
His Love gave me life…
His Life gave me worth!
