Stained Glass Window

Unforgiveness is a poison
And its toxins taint your soul.
It digs in quiet stillness
And burrows like a mole.

There was no forgiveness,
No forbearance found in me,
Only blinded, bitter blame
And heaped hostility.

Malice seemed to creep in
And snuff my candle out,
Leaving nothing left but darkness
And a faith that turned to doubt.

But I’m tired of being angry
With this blackness on my walls,
I need a stained glass window
To let Light within these halls.

I need a stained glass window-
With illumined purity,
I need a flood of Light and Love
To come and shine in me…
