Tear by Tear

Year by year, he went his way
And left her all alone…
Prayer by prayer, she tried to pray
While inside her spirit groaned.

Day by day, she built a wall
To keep her heart intact…
Stone by stone, it grew so tall,
From all the love she lacked.

Night by night, she slept alone
But dreamt of joyful times,
Tear by tear, though never shown,
She wept in rain and shine.

Stone by stone, a fortress strong,
Built from years of sighs,
When all she wanted all along,
Was a Love that never dies.…
