The Fall of Samson

As a man of strength
The legend only grew,
As a man of wit,
He was tried and true…
But the weakness he suffered
Was as old as the hills,
His power chiseled down
By a woman's skills.
Samson, the warrior,
Was a Nazirite,
Who struck down each foe
By his God-given might,
But a fall was plotted
By the Philistines
To bring down this man
By Delilah's schemes.
For shekels of silver
She earned his trust,
And wore down his armor
With her greedy lust,
His secret was shared,
Then Delilah crept
To shear off his locks
As her lover slept…
Oh woe to the woman
With a heart untrue…
Silver loveth not
When the night is new…
The Love of a man
Is a treasure to be sought,
Oh ponder the sting
Her deeds have wrought!
