The
Other Thing I Do
You
might think I just bring the mail
But
there’s another thing I do,
Sometimes when I am passing by
I
say a prayer for you…

I
see you there, all alone
And
sometimes looking sad
I
pray you’ll find your smile again--
Things really aren’t so bad.

And
when your son went off to war
I
doubled up the prayers
One
for him and one for you
Though you were unaware…

When
the sign said “It’s a boy!”
I
asked the Lord to keep--
The
mommy strong, all night long
And
help her get some sleep…

Then
the cards began to come
The
oncologist bills came too-
When
cancer now defined your world
I
sent up prayers for you!

When
your child began to bloom
From
awkward to delight…
And
I thanked the Lord for caring Dads
You
really did things right!

So,
you might think I just bring the mail
But
there’s another thing I do
Sometimes when I am passing by--
I
say a prayer for you!
For
Misty,
Who
taught me I really could love
The
people that I serve…
