The Season of Your Memory
I
turned off all the buzzing noise
So I could hear the wind,
And in that harbored, quiet place
I thought of you again.
Seasons come and seasons go
My memories start to fade,
Yet some remain that wear your name
And in my heart have stayed.
You were bright and beautiful,
So fearless in your spirit,
Inside, my heart gently sighed,
But I couldn't let you hear it.
I could never let you in,
Too afraid that you might see-
All the black and damming sin
That hid inside of me.
I pushed you back- away from me,
I know that was unkind-
But girls like me, couldn't have, you see-
Someone beautiful that shined.
So seasons come and seasons go,
Yes, our time is passing by,
But I just had to let you know…
You always made me sigh.
